As this campaign to protect marriage continues in Ohio, no doubt it will be attacked by those who are opposed to traditional marriage and would like to redefine it to suit whatever satisfies their personal self-interests. Your voice, time and talents will be needed to hold off the attacks.

Lawsuits were filed to prevent the circulation of any petitions with court briefs make irrational claims regarding the impact of this amendment to the Ohio constitution. Sadly, they found a judge who would listen.

Opponents will try everything they can do to slow down the petition gathering and validation process and keep the people of Ohio from having the opportunity to vote on such an important issue.

As predicted, knowing they can't win in a democratic process, they continue to turn to judges to stop the people of Ohio from exercising their constitutional rights through the petition process.

What is the proposed constitutional amendment?

"Only a union between one man and one woman may be a marriage valid in or recognized by this state and its political subdivisions. This state and its political subdivisions shall not create or recognize a legal status for relationships of unmarried individuals that intends to approximate the design, qualities, significance or effect of marriage."

It is vital that everyone who cares about protecting the sanctity of marriage get involved in this effort. A dozen to two pro-family organizations cannot accomplish this huge task. Every individual and every church can play a part in its success all the way to the end.
